  18. DESCRIPTION
  19.      If the _f_i_l_e_I_d argument is  given  then  it  should  normally
  20.      refer  to  a process pipeline created with the open command.
  21.      In this case the pid command will return a list  whose  ele-
  22.      ments  are  the  process identifiers of all the processes in
  23.      the pipeline, in order.  The list will be  empty  if  _f_i_l_e_I_d
  24.      refers to an open file that isn't a process pipeline.  If no
  25.      _f_i_l_e_I_d argument is given then pid returns the process  iden-
  26.      tifier  of the current process.  All process identifiers are
  27.      returned as decimal strings.
